Protestors meet Bishnupur SP; demand release of VVs

Bishnupur, February 20 2025: A large number of meira paibi activists from Kumbi and Moirang areas staged protest in front of the office of Bishnupur SP around 10 am Thursday demanding unconditional release of 13 'village volunteers' arrested by the police from a house at Moirang Kiyam Leikai under Moirang police station earlier in the day.

Of the protesters, handful of activists were allowed to meet SP Kshetrimayum Ravikumar Singh, following which the agitation was called off.

According to reports, the 13 village volunteers were whisked away by district police to the Bishnupur SP's office after brief detention at Moirang police station.
