ONE YUMNAM Palen (23) hailing from Takyel Kolom Leikai was nabbed for thieving a cow and a calf and selling it to a nearby Kabui village today.
The cow belonged to Chabungbam Jhulon living in the same locality.
Palen is married for two years and also has a daughter.
According to Palen, the cow was tied at the ground of the government polytechnic located at the locality.
He dragged the cow in broad daylight and sold it to one Marry of Aramji Kabui Village at Rs 3010 .
He bought three boxes of SP tablets from one lady named Eliza hailing from Lilong near police station and sold it to some other people and the left tablets were consumed by self.
He said that he had been using tablets for over three years.
According to Jhulon, the thief was able to nab as one of his friend from the Kabui village narrated the incident to him.
But, the cow and the calf were already butchered by the time he realized.
Later, the issue was settled on payment of Rs 22000 to the cow owner by the thief.
