UG demand decried by Chandel Teachers

Imphal, May 06: Decrying 'unreasonable monetary demand' from a UG group and setting May 10 as the deadline for withdrawal of the said demand, Chandel District Teachers' Association would be staging a sit-in-protest on May 12 in case the demand is not revoked.

The decision to stage sit-in-protest was arrived at during a meeting of the Association held yesterday at the Indoor Stadium of Chandel district headquarters, according to a statement issued by president of the Association N Ningkhalem.

Ningkhalem disclosed that the UG group in question has demanded 2 percent pay deduction from the Government employees under ZEO Chandel besides payment of percentage from SSA scheme and diversion of foodgrains from Mid-Day Meal Scheme.
