Lanna Thouram of 'Maj' Gulu held in Jiri, Heirok

Imphal, November 04 2024: The 'Lanna Thouram' of PLA 'major' Oinam Babu Meitei alias Gulu, who was killed in a gun battle near the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur sector on October 3, was held in his hometown Kadamtala in Jiribam district on Monday.

The ceremony was attended by large number of people, including civil society organisations, meira paibi groups, and local residents.

Floral tributes were offered to the photograph of Oinam Babu Meitei as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

Additionally, the 'Lanna Thouram' was also conducted in Heirok, where his last rites were performed and his body cremated.
