Imphal, October 04 2026: The Ariang (Khunkhu) Naga Village Authority, in a statement, has clarified that "the village and its residents have no involvement in the disappearance of 71-year-old Hemjang Haokip" .

Apparently issued before the missing was found dead, the statement issued by the village authority urged all concerned to avoid levelling unfounded allegations against the village which may create distrust and tension between communities.
