Thoubal, July 03 2024:
The 48-hour general strike called by the JAC in protest against the killing of Th Ibomcha, founder of KIM Educational Society Khangabok, from 6 am Wednesday disrupted normal life in the district.
Though the strike did not affect the entire district, it significantly impacted Khangabok village and parts of NH-102 that pass through Khangabok.
A large number of people of Athokpam Arong Thong, Khangabok village and Wangbal Keithel blocked the roads by placing logs.
JAC secretary Takhellambam Tomba Meitei warned that if the authorities do not respond positively even after the 48-hour strike, the agitation will intensify.
