Sit-in decries threat to 'meira paibi'

Imphal, October 21 2024: In response to threat to its secretary, Keishamthong Top Leirak Maning Meira Paibi organised sit-in protest at the locality on Monday.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the sit-in, joint secretary Phurailatpam Romi-la informed that on October 19 around 7 pm unknown persons wearing masks entered the house of Sanabam Tampha Ibema (65), who is secretary of the Meira Paibi group, threatened her by showing a live bullet and issued "Last Warning" before leaving.

Romila urged persons involved in intimidating the secretary to clarify their motives and also called upon all concerned to desist from such acts in future.
