Imphal, January 20: The annual Phiroi ceremony of late Akaba was solemnised today at Wakha Leima Ching of Nongmaiching hills.

The Phiroi ceremony was jointly organised by Meetei National Front, MEELAL, Meetei Inat Pung Eshei Jagoi Shindam Shanglen and Chingsubam Akaba Memorial Trust and the family members of late Akaba.

On the occasion, foundation stone for a memorial monument of Akaba was also laid by titular king Sanajaoba.
