Tree plantation drive conducted at Joupi

Imphal, June 04 2024: In the run-up to World Environment Day, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the local population, organised a tree-planting event at Joupi village to celebrate the global event, promote environmental conservation and enhance green cover in these remote regions.

Assam Rifles personnel and villagers came together to plant a variety of saplings.

During the programme, 150 locals, including 50 children and Assam Rifles troops, helped plant 2500 saplings.

The participants also took a pledge to protect and nurture the environment, PRO IGAR(S) said in a release.
