Imphal, October 24 2024: The CPI, Imphal East District Council, staged a sit-in-protest today at the party's office auditorium located at Khurai demanding to immediately hold urban local body election, to end the present crisis in the State, to protect and safeguard the National Highways and to curb price rise.

The protest was attended by former party secretary, L Sotinkumar, State executive member, RK Amusana as presidium members.

Speaking at the protest site, leaders of CPI lambasted the present Government for not holding the local body election and alleged that, the Government appoints nominees to misuse the powers of local bodies.
