Imphal, April 23 2023: A 60 year old construction worker suffered serious burn injuries after he came into contact with an high-tension overhead wire while working at Singjamei Sapam Leikai today at around 10.30 am .

The injured individual has been identified as Sapam Shanta, s/o Late S Mani of Khongman Okram Chuthek and he is undergoing treatment at JNIMS.

According to the Officer in Charge of Singjamei police, the construction worker sustained burns affecting 60 per cent of his body.

The victim was engaged in house construction of one Yurembam Tomba of Singjamei Leishangthem Leikai.

It may be mentioned that one construction worker was also electrocuted at Langthabal recently.
