A Kholi named for language award

Imphal, February 17 2026: Sahitya Thoupang Lup has named renowned language activist Asoso Kholi as the recipient of the Khumbongmayum Gourahari Madhumati Mother Language Award for 2026.The award will be handed over to A Kholi on the occasion of International Mother Language Day on February 21 at the auditorium of State Central Library.

He is being conferred the award in recognition of his lifelong efforts to preserve and uplift the Mao language.
