Imphal, February 17 2016: All Manipur Government Aided Schools United Retired Employees Welfare Association staged a sit-in-protest demanding early clearance of pension and remaining arrears at the community hall of Keishampat Leimajam Mamang Leikai today.

Association secretary Y Kullachandra said that the Government used to clear the arrears of aided school teachers every 5-6 years in the past.

However, these teachers have not received any arrear from the Government from 1999, he said.

Kullachandra urged the Government to grant pension in accordance with the pension rules of the retired teachers of Government aided schools and clear arrears at the earliest.
