Imphal, August 07 2026: In a tragic incident, an individual who went down a pond to pluck lotus drowned today.

According to information culled from the spot, Wakongthem Jateshwor (54) of Sagolband Takyel Kolom Leikai, Imphal West went down a pond at Takyel Kolom Leikai at around 9 am today to pluck lotuses.

However, he did not come up for a long time.

After a frantic search together with SDRF, Jateshwor was found dead.
