Imphal, October 31 2025: Acting on precise intelligence, a joint team of Assam Rifles and Kakching Police Commandos launched a targeted search in New Chayang area near Umathel and recovered a cache of arms and war-like stores today.

The coordinated sweep uncovered one INS AS Light Machine Gun, one 12 Bore Rifle, one Single Barrel Bolt Action Rifle, one Single Barrel Rifle, twenty rounds of 5.56mm live ammunition, three hand grenades, a ring of 36 grenade, one 51mm illumination para bomb, thirteen empty cases and other tactical stores, said IGAR (South) in a statement.

The recovered items have been handed over to Waikhong police station for further investigation.
