Imphal, April 23 2025: Heisnam Basantakumar Award for the year 2025 has been conferred to Kamal Toijamba, in recognition of his contribution for promotion of Manipuri literature.

The award was presented today during a "Heisnam Basantakumar Award Presentation & Young Poets Meet" programme held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, 'organised by Sahitya Thoupang Lup on the occasion of World Book Day.

The award consisted of a citation, Lengyan and cash reward of Rs 10,000.The event was graced by dignitaries, including Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur and Bimol Lambamayum, Joint Director, Manipur Legislative Assembly.
