Imphal, February 23 2025: A large cache of arms and ammunition has been surrendered in Imphal East, following an appeal by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla.

The development comes after the Governor, on Feb 20, urged the public to deposit looted arms and ammunition within seven days, warning of strict action for non-compliance.

The surrendered items, according to a bulletin issued by PCR on February 22, include one CMC carbine with a magazine, six pieces of mortar shells, 1200 pieces of 5.56x30mm ammunition and 2200 .22 ammunition.
