Imphal, October 22 2024: The 21st edition of Islamic calendar 2025 (Hijri 1446/47) was released today at the office of Social and Educational Development Association (SEDA), Lilong.

Speaking at the event, the Editor of the calendar said, the Islamic calendar was first released in Manipur in 2005 .

"The Islamic calendar has been used since the Sahabah period based on the lunar calendar system.

To be able to be used by all the communities the calendar also includes Manipur lunar months, Hijri and Gregorian, he added.

The event was attended by various elders, students and Ulma -e-Kiram, said a statement.
