Imphal, April 19 2026: The shutdown being called by the JAC formed in connection with the Tronglaobi massacre and various civil society organizations, till April 25 disrupted normal life today.

From early morning, supporters of the shutdown blocked roads in several areas, while markets and shops remained closed.

Apart from a few private vehicles and essential service providers, passenger vehicles were seen in very limited numbers.

However, most Government offices were open.

Security forces have been deployed to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.
