UKRA condemns forced resignation of Kom president

Imphal, May 06: United Komrem Revolutionary Army (UKRA) has strongly condemned forcing present Kom Union president M Mhanglholer to resign from being the interim president of Kom Union Manipur at gun point after being produced before mediapersons at Ichum Komkeirap yesterday by KomRem People's Army (KRPA) allegedly floated by Komrem Development Organisation.

In a statement, administrative secretary of UKRA BB Kom asserted that the news report appeared in this paper stating that the incident took place at a place in Churachandpur district is baseless and misleading as Ichum Komkeirap falls under the jurisdiction of Senapati district.

While observing that arms and weapons would never be able to bring about peace among the Komrem people, BB Kom further appealed to KRPA to ensure such incident do not recur in the future.
