Imphal, July 05 2026: Manipuri feature film "Phouoibee (The Goddess of Paddy)", produced by Suraj Khongbantabam and directed by Rakesh Moirangthem, won Best Film Northeast and Best Director at the Prag Cine Awards 2026 Northeast India.

The awards were presented at Jyoti Chitraban International Auditorium, Khanapara, Guwahati today.

"Phouoibee" has earlier received the Special Jury Award at the 3rd Northeast India Film Festival, Manipur, and was officially selected for Kolkata International Film Festival 2025, 2nd Guwahati Asian Film Festival 2026, IFFD 2026, and others.
