Awareness programme on Food Safety held

Chandel, August 01 2025: The Food Safety Administration, Chandel, in collaboration with the State Food Testing Laboratory Lamphelpat, Imphal, conducted an awareness programme on "Food Fortification, Good Hygiene and Sanitary Practices" at St Peter Higher Secondary School, Monsang Pantha, Chandel.

The programme was led by Food Analyst Ch Sanajaoba Singh.

During the programme, students of Class XI and XII actively participated in the interactive session.

The students were educated on the importance of reading food labels to better understand the contents of packaged food products and become informed and alert consumers.

In addition, basic tests to detect common food adulterants were demonstrated, enhancing the practical knowledge of the students on food safety and quality standards.
