TIM mourns demise of Mangvung Paokholun

Imphal, May 28 2026: The Thadou Inpi Manipur(TIM) has condoled the demise of Mangvung Paokholun Haokip, hereditary chief of Longja Village, Chandel, who passed away on May 27, 2026, at PC Nursing Hospital, Churachandpur, after prolonged illness.

Grandson of Thadou War martyr Ngulbul Haokip and son of late M Sonjakhup Haokip, he upheld Thadou unity and identity, said a release issued by TIM.

In 2018, he led efforts to undo the divisive "Seldinglhuh" declaration to safeguard Haokip clansmen in Thadou organisations.

He also served as "Hun-pa" of the 4th Manipur State Level Hun-Thadou Cultural Festival in 2021.TIM extended condolences to the family, Mangvung clan, and Longja villagers, saying his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
