Wheelchair handed over

Imphal, March 24 2026:
State Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities Waikhom Birahari handed over a wheelchair to bilateral amputee Aku Pamei (58) at Raj Medicity today.
The farmer from Taolingpung Khul, Khoupum in Noney district lost both his legs after being struck by shrapnel in a bomb blast on March 14 while crossing a field close to his home.
His 4 year old son Makureng Pamei lost his life at the spot.
The Commissioner was accompanied by the staff of District Child Protection Unit Noney.
Waikhom Birahari has also assured that the Department will provide Aku Pamei with prosthetic legs at the earliest.
