Imphal, December 21 2024: Professor Laiphrakpam Ranjit Singh, former Director, RIMS has been re-elected as the president of Manipur Medical Council (MMC) for the second consecutive term.

The retd HOD of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, RIMS will continue serving in the post for the next five years.

Some of the notable functions of the MMC include maintaining the State Medical Register, dealing with complaints of unethical practice by registered doctors and overseeing counselling of foreign medical graduates for compulsory rotatory internship among others.
