Quake jolts Kamjong

Imphal, April 21 2026 : A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Kamjong district in Manipur on Tuesday morning, sending strong tremors across the region, according to official data.

The quake occurred at 5.59 am, as confirmed by the National Center for Seismology.

Tremors were felt in and around Kamjong area, prompting brief panic among residents.

"Earthquake of Magnitude: 5.2, Occurred on 21/ 04/2026, 05:59:33 1ST, Lat: 24.703 N, Long: 94.415 E, Depth: 62 Km, Location: Kamjong, Manipur, India," the NCS said on X.However, there have been no reports of loss of life or major damage so far.
