The State Government is keeping the target of completing the RCC bridge being construction over Chakpi river at an estimated project cost over Rs 2 crores since 2007 by next year and dedicate the same to the people, Works Minister K Ranjit has stated.
While coming to take part in a function of inaugurating Sugnu Police Station today, the Minister inspected the progress of the construction work being taken up over Chakpi river which flows through Serou.
Talking to media-persons at the occasion, the Minister informed that the construction work of the bridge began in 2007 and so far 15 percent of the work has been completed.
The progress of the work has been delayed following undue interference from some UG groups, the Minister said.
