Imphal, May 18 2026: The Manipur Security Service has written to the Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal to close the Southern Polo Gate of the campus following cases of burglary.

Detailing cases of burglary and urging the RIMS Director to consider closing "unnecessary gate", the Manipur Security Service said two alleged vehicle lifters were caught by one security guard inside the campus on May 15 .

The two alleged vehicle lifters identified as Md Soilhamid (22) of Lilong Haoreibi makha Leikai and Md Musharaf (25) of Lilong Chingkham Makha were caught while they were attempting to steal two wheeler vehicles parked inside the RIMS campus, said the MSS .
