Imphal, March 18: Protesting the planting of a bomb at the Kongpal Laishram Leikai residence of one Khagokpam Khamba Singh, who is the Superintending Engineer (Circle-I) of Electricity Department, by unidentified gunmen yesterday afternoon, womenfolk of the area staged a Wakat Meepham at Tinsid Road Kongpal Khongkhong today.

The protest demonstration was organised jointly by the Meira Paibis of Khurai Kongpal Laishram Leikai and its surrounding areas and was held from 10 am to 5 pm.

The protestors decried violent incidents in residential areas which have been causing fear psychosis among the people.
