Parthenium Awareness Week begins

Thoubal, August 16 2024: The week-long 19th Parthenium Awareness Week was kicked off at Thoubal KVK campus today under the aegis of Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur.

The awareness programme was attended by Th Subhash, chairperson, Administrative Committee, Khangabok Part I GP; Dr W Jiten, farm manager, KVK Thoubal and RK Lembisana, SMS Home Science, KVK Thoubal.

Many farmers from Thoubal district also attended the awareness programme.

On the occasion, Dr Chuwang Hijam, SMS Plant Breeding and Genetics, spoke at length about the pros and cons of Parthenium, which is a prolific weed.
