Imphal, June 15 2026: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Imphal West, and City Police Station, Imphal West, jointly observed World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2026 today at Ima Keithel.

Held under the theme "Beyond Awareness: Making Elder Abuse Prevention Work", the programme aimed to spread awareness on senior citizens' rights and prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Panel lawyers and DLSA staff, along with police personnel, educated the public, especially elders, on legal rights, protections, and free legal aid services.

The event stressed the need for community efforts to respect and safeguard the dignity and well-being of older persons.
