Kumbi College governing body row settled after joint meeting

Moirang, May 14 2026: The long-standing controversy surrounding the governing body of Kumbi College was resolved following a joint meeting held on May 10 in the presence of the All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU).

During the meeting, it was resolved that the appointment of 26 staff on a temporary basis, made on May 23 and September 3, 2025 without issuing any advertisement, would be cancelled.

The meeting further decided that a fresh advertisement would be issued and a DPC would be conducted to fill up the vacant posts in the college in a fair and transparent manner.

In a statement, the Principal of Kumbi College expressed gratitude to AMSU for its significant role in helping resolve the prolonged controversy affecting the institution.
