A special meeting of the MPP Legislature Party held this morning at the Kakwa residence of party MLA O Joy Singh with president Dr L Chandramani presiding over the session decided against nominating an MPP candidate for the State's lone Rajya Sabha seat.
Informing that the meeting was also attended by senior and top party functionaries/leaders, an MPP release issued by its general secretary iterated that MPP will never deviate from its cherished principle of upholding interest of the minority community and protecting the State's territorial integrity.
Referring to elevation of (L) Md Alimuddin twice as the Chief Minister of Manipur to drive home its point of supporting the minority community, the release said that in sustaining the MPP tradition party MLAs would vote for Rajya Sabha contestant hailing from the Minority Muslim community.
