Flash floods devastate Phaibung villages

Senapati, August 06 2026: Over 60 percent of paddy fields belonging to Lower Phaibung, Phaibung Khunou and Ngari Lishang have been destroyed by overflowing river water today.

Swollen due to incessant rains, the river water inundated paddy fields and small huts.

Further, landslides at Phaibung area has stranded over 200 passengers, who have been provided shelter and food by Phaibung Lower (Chukhreimai) villagers under the leadership of its chairman Careson.
