Abandoned baby rescued from cradle point

Imphal, July 02 2025: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned at the cradle point located outside MMKS Children's Home, Dewlahland, Imphal East today, at around 2:39 pm.

Upon receiving the information, the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Imphal East, led by Devavrata Sharma, Protection Officer, immediately swung into action and initiated the due process.

The child was promptly shifted to the emergency ward of JNIMS for life-saving medical care.

The matter was also reported to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), the Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA), and the concerned police station.

The baby is currently under medical care at JNIMS and her condition is being closely monitored.
