Nambol native rises to DIG rank in BSF

Imphal, August 01 2026: Abujam Bijoykumar Singh has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) with the BSF .

Hailing from Kharjiri Mamang Leikai, Nambol, and son of Abujam Ibomcha Singh and Abujam Leishabi Devi, he joined active service as an Assistant Commandant on January 2, 1995 .

Since then, his career has been defined by discipline, resilience, and steadfast commitment to duty.

Currently on deputation with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Abujam Bijoykumar was awarded the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal in 2025 .
