Imphal, April 01: Strongly urging for a written test examination for the appointment of primary teachers under District Council, the Movement for Tribal Peoples Rights Manipur has questioned the logic and rationale behind skipping the written part in the procedure for appointment of teachers while the same is conducted in the recruitment of riflemen of State forces.

A statement issued by MTPRM also reminded that as per the Recruitment Rules of Manipur Gazette Extraordinary, October 18, 1995, knowledge of one of the tribal dialects of the area for the post of primary teachers in hill areas is a pre-requisite condition.

It cautioned that violation of the recruitment rules would lead to controversy and complications.

Mentioned may be made here that DPC for recruitment of primary teachers under District Council has been scheduled for April 3.
