Imphal, November 08, 2008: SOCIAL WELFARE Educational and Cultural Association, an apex body of the areas affected by Waithoupat Water Supply Scheme, decided to boycott the developmental work of Waithou water supply project if the Chief Minister do not pay heed to the current work situation.

The decision was taken against inappropriate response upon agreed resolution regarding a construction of a canal.

Earlier, a joint meeting held at secretariat office of chief minister including representatives of JAC, chief minister, PHE minister, IFCD minister, MLA Meghachandra and all related high officials resolved to accomplish the project of a canal connecting the stream of waithoupat with Imphal River as soon as possible.

The government hardly took up any action accordingly, since long, a statment of the association said.
