Seminar on non-smoking, non-tobacco held

Imphal, November 08, 2008: THE ORIENTAL College, Takyel today organised a one day seminar on the theme "Non-Smoking and Non-Tobacco" under the aegis of Directorate of University and Higher Education, Government of Manipur in the college premises.

Principal of DM College of Science, G Tomba Sharma was the chief guest and Principal of Oriental College, Y Sumati was the president at the inaugural function of the seminar.

Dr Th Tomcha, Professor and Head of Department of Radiology, Regional Cancer Centre, RIMS was the resource person.

Dr Th Tomcha said that smoking and using tobacco affect one's health irrepairably.

He discussed various means on how to keep away from these harmful habits.

G Tomba Sharma elaborated on how smoking and using tobacco caused cancer.

Principal Y Sumati called on the young students to keep distance from habits of smoking and using tobacco.
