Imphal, December 19 2008: DEMOCRATIC STUDENTS' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), with a view to improve its functioning, has appointed 30 executives to operate DESAM Jiri Local Council in a conference held at Jiri Higher Secondary School on December 15 last.

President-in-charge, DESAM, LC Santosh and Secretary Organization and Co-ordination, P Inaobi of DESAM took part in the function.

A DESAM press release said that Laishram Loidam, Kangabam Bablu, Thoudam Rosun, Keisam Ranjubala, Laithangbam Romeo and Sorokhaibam Amarjit were appointed as the president, vice president, general secretary, assistant general secretary, finance secretary and sports secretary respectively of the Jiri Local Council of DESAM.
