Imphal, February 16 2009: The Manipuri Sahitya Parsihad today condoled on the demised of Hawaibam Ranbir who had honoured with �Sahitya Sebak� award on February 14 at his home at Uripok haobam Dewan Leikai.

He was 88. The parsihad convened a meeting today to observe condolence on the demise of the noted writer today, a statement of the parishad said.

Ranbir had been a life member of the parishad and he had also taken the charge of general secretary in from 1948 to 1952 and as president from 1965 to 1986.
