Imphal, March 18: In a devastating fire which broke out at about 3.30 pm yesterday ravaged a large portion of the Riha Primary School, Riha village, Ukhrul district, informed a release issued by the headman of Riha village.

Altogether seven class rooms along with benches, desks and chairs and a kitchen for mid-day meal were completely reduced to cinders.

Even though the origin of the fire could not ascertained yet, the value of the properties lost is estimated at Rs 5 lakhs approximately.

Consequent upon the devastating fire, the school has been closed indefinitely, added the release.
