Imphal, August 14, 2012: GOC, Red Shield Division, Major General Binoy Poonnen inaugurated a newly constructed Football Ground at Taphou Oinam village near Mt Everest College under Karong A/C today.

Speaking on the occasion, Maj Gen Binoy Poonnen who graced the function as Chief Guest said that youths of the state has the quality to become a good sportsperson.

The football Ground inaugurated today was constructed by the Red Shield Division from June 10 with an aim to bring up the budding footballers of the area.

He urged the people of Senapati district to maintain the football ground well and groom up sports personalities like Mary Kom and Devendro who can bring fames and laurels to the state.

MLA Alexander Pao who also attended the function felicitated those who extended cooperations during the construction of the football ground with gifts.
