Imphal, November 08, 2008: Youth Affairs and Sports Minister N Biren Singh today personally inspected the progress of the Chandel District Sports Complex being constructed at Christian Village with funding from the Special Plan Assistance at an estimated cost of Rs 15 crores.

The Minister inspected the construction of the Indoor Stadium, Mini stadium, public gallery, VIP gallery, boys and girls; hostels, etc.

Construction of the sports complex commenced from March this year and it is being targeted to complete by March 2010 .

During the course of the inspection, the Minister expressed happiness over the quality of the work being executed and appealed to all the people and organisations for co-operation and support in ensuring completion of the sports complex within the stipulated time frame.
