Stray animals worry COCOMI Wing
Source: Chronicle News Service
Imphal, October 28 2024:
Taking note of complaints from farmers about the destruction of their labour-intensive paddy plantations by stray cattle and ponies, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) Farmers' Wing has urged cattle and horse owners to restrain their animals.
In a release, COCOMI Farmers Wing said a memorandum has also been submitted to Imphal West DC to prevent the ponies from wandering.
Pointing out that people settling in villages' and outskirts of Imphal are reeling under the impact of the ongoing crisis, it exhorted the farmers to plant as much as they could this Rabi season and produce crops sufficiently.
