Meat sellers advised to follow safety norms

Imphal, July 14 2022: Imphal West Designated Officer (FSA) T Brojendro Khaba Meitei has instructed all the Food Business Operators (FBOs) possessing either license or registration certificate (RC) for selling Meat and Meat products in the district to strictly follow the Food Safety and Standards regulations.

In a release, the Designated Officer cautioned that in view of reports of African Swine Fever in Pigs in some districts, any FBO found violating the prescribed rules pertaining to "Specific Hygienic and Sanitary Practices" would be sternly dealt with as per the Schedule IV of the Food Safety And Standards (Licensing And Registration of Food Businesses) Regulation, 2011 .
