Yaoshang festivities banned

Imphal, March 13 2025: Rural United Clubs' Organisation (RUCO), a joint organisation of Lamsang and Sekmai assembly constituencies, banned Yaoshang festivities in areas under the organisation, with exception of conduct of Yaoshang sports meet.

In a release, RUCO president N Rasanta Kumar announced that activities such as Thabal Chongba, feasts, tambola, Holi songs, spraying of colours and water, as well as roadblocks for Yaoshang, are prohibited in light of the ongoing conflict that has caused widespread suffering for over two years.

He further clarified that there is no ban in conducting Yaoshang sports.
