Loumee Marup wants timely supply of fertilizer

Imphal, July 06 2026: The Manipur Loumee Marup has urged the State Government to ensure timely supply of irrigation water and fertilizers for the current farming season.

Loumee Marup leaders, after visiting farmlands in the northern parts of Imphal Valley, said farmers are facing difficulties as the Dolaithabi Project is not releasing adequate water into canals.

Coupled with delayed monsoon rains, this has hampered paddy transplantation.

The Forum stated that with farmers preparing fields now, water from the Dolaithabi Project must be released on time and in sufficient quantity.

It also demanded that fertilizers be made available on time, stressing that both water and inputs are crucial to secure crops, food grain production, and farmers' livelihoods this year.
