Imphal, October 31 2024: Body of a man was found in the Kakching Wairi Panjao Pallum Sanlam drain along the Kakching-Mantak road on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Dingping Newmai (39) s/o Namvangbou Newmai of Nahul village in Tamei, currently residing in Mantak Village.

According to a police report, the body was spotted in the drain around 5:30 am along with numberless two-wheeler (Activa) on top of his body.

Kakching police have registered an Unnatural Death (UD) case.

After a post-mortem at JNIMS mortuary, the body has been handed over to the family for the last rites.
