UTLA clarifies over bandh call

Imphal, March 16 2012: United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) has clarified that the cadres who have called for an indefinite bandh along the National Highway-53 (Imphal-Jiribam Road) are not genuine members of the outfit.

In a statement issued by its Secretary of ministry of information and public relations Anaconda alias Josh, UTLA asserted that SK Thadou is not the chairman of the organization.

Since signing of the Suspension of Operation with the Central and the state government on October 27, 2011 at Ist MR Banquet hall in the presence of GOC, no cadre of UTLA have been ever arrested on alleged ground of violating the SoO ground rules, the statement added.
